From 2007 to 2013 member of the CI&DETS: Center for Studies in Education, Technology and Health, Research Unit, Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. In the research group in Engineering, Technology and Management, developed most of the research, but also belonged to the group of Education, Health and Social Development, contributing with research, although not so intense.

 

2002 - 2008: Group of Particle Technology, Polymers and Biomaterials, Research Centre CIEPQPF (Research Centre for Chemical Processes Engineering and Forest Products) Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Coimbra.

Coordinated the international project EISuFood - Edible Insects as Sustainable Food, Proj. reference CERNAS-IPV/2020/003.

The project initiated in April 2021 and lasts for 18 months.

In the project participated 69 researchers from 18 countries: Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey

Coordinated the international project PROJ/CI&DETS/CGD/0012, an extension of project "Psycho-social motivations associated with food choices and eating practices (EATMOT)".

In the project participated 78 researchers from 18 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, United States of America.

Coordinated the international project PROJ/CI&DETS/2016/00018 "Psycho-social motivations associated with food choices and eating practices (EATMOT)". The project began in June 2016 and lasted two years and a half.

Coordinated the project PROJ/CI&DETS/2014/0002 "Study of the physical-chemical properties in different flours". The project began in September 2013 and lasted one year.

Coordinated the international project PROJ/CI&DETS/2014/0001 "Study about the knowledge and habits regarding food fibres in different countries". The project began in September 2014 and lasted one year.

In the project participate 24 researchers from 10 countries: Argentina, Croatia, Egypt, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Turkey.

Coordinated the project PROJ/CI&DETS/2012/0001 "Study of the influence of drying on the phenolic compounds of pears and bananas". The project began in January 2013 and lasted one year.

As a member of the Directory Board of the Center for Educational Research, Technology and Health (CI&DETS), Research Unit UI4016 funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), participated in the team responsible for the strategic project for the biennium 2011-2012 in the amount of 299.392,00 €(Project PEst-OE/CED/UI4016/2011). The project began in January 2011 with a duration of two years. In 2012 we requested an extension of the FCT project for another year, for the calendar year 2013, with additional funding of 150.000,00 €.

Participated in the research project POCI FCT entitled "Dried Pears, promotion of agro-food products using traditional scientific methodology", funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Project PTDC / AGR - ALI/74587/2006) totaling 130.738,00 €. The project began in June 2007 and ended in November 2010. From February 2009 took over as Principal Investigator for the project.

Participated in the research project PRODER PA 18648 entitled "Conservation and Exploitation of Genetic Resources of Cynara sp.", Funded in the amount of 17.344,22 €. The project began in January 2010 and has a duration of three years and a half.

 

 

Participated in the research project MELFCG-829 entitled "Characterization Microbiological and Physical Chemistry of honeys Coming from Luso Region", funded in the amount of 11.500,00 €. The project began in April 2006 and lasted for two years.
 

 

 

Participated in the project AGRO 740 entitled "Enhancement of regional varieties of pome fruit through organic farming", funded in the amount of 155.200,00 €. The project began in January 2004 and lasted three years (six months).

Other R&D projects

Between 1995 and 1998 participated in a work entitled "Characterization of Dried Pears from Viseu" in order to characterize the system of production and processing technology, complemented with analyzes for chemical characterization. The work was conducted in the Agrarian School of Viseu.
